March 12th is now indelibly imprinted in my mind for so any reasons. Chief among those reasons
is that it was the last day that Terrapin Select had our doors open to the public. The Cornona
virus had been on our minds collectively for a few weeks. At that moment we had the “luxury”
of viewing that news story from a distance, but as time went on and more people became
afflicted with the disease, it transformed into a problem that we had to address.
Our last walk-in customers on the afternoon of March 12th really made us think about the
overall consequences of remaining open even one day more. It was really a simple exercise of
mentally tracing the footsteps of our customers and our staff members that made us realize just
how precarious a situation we were in now with this highly transmissible virus. It was apparent
that if we remained open and reporting to work in a normal fashion that we’d be endangering
lives. Nothing about this situation was normal, so we realized we would need to pivot and
adjust to the impending public health crisis.
Our leadership team instantly went to work planning our next moves: our retail space would
immediately close to the general public, and we would substantially limit the number of staff
members reporting for on-site work. Further plans would be needed to figure out the logistics
of “remaining open” while shutting our doors, but those first two issues were of paramount
importance to both our customers and our team.
We came up with a way to fulfill our online orders, as well as any orders from our retail partners
that would work with limited staff. Team members were assigned certain days of the week
where they would run point for Terrapin Select and handle any business that came our way.
We’d log normal hours while we could, and the team would stay connected all day long via
online chat and phone calls. Support would be provided. In some ways it was the classic
“battlefield promotion” for some of our team as we took on new roles and learned parts of the
business we were never involved in prior to this emergency.
In what has come to be classic Terrapin team fashion, our staff responded with alacrity and
went to work fighting for our small business. Messages were posted online and at our
headquarters informing the public of our decisions and providing contact information should
they need any assistance from us whatsoever. Daily duties shifted as needed, and collectively
we would put on our bravest face for what lies ahead.
We know that so many of our customers, like us, have come to rely on CBD as part of their daily
health and wellness routine. Getting our clients the CBD supplements they rely on was a
primary concern, so if they could not get to us with ease, we would do our best to ease their
minds and get our products to them. It was decided that we would go to free shipping on every
order placed on terrapinselect.com. The people need their CBD, and we’re going to get it to
them!
Luckily for us, our valued customers are just amazing. We’ve been blessed to be able to keep
day grateful that we have the opportunity to help you be wise and be well. Thank you for your
patronage.
In the coming days keep your eyes on our social media accounts for some more “behind the
curtain” type posts so that you can check in on our team, and our process these days. We’ll be
sharing updates, day-to-day operations, what CBD supplements our team is using during
quarantine, and how we’re spending our down-time at home. Let us know how you’re doing!
We’d love to hear from you be it in the comments here, the comments on our social accounts,
or in an email.
We’ll check in again soon! Until then, stay safe, Be Wise, Be Well.
